Blood Glucose Testing
Blood glucose tests can assist those who were recently diagnosed with diabetes or those with a high risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Blood glucose tests measure the amount of glucose in your blood and provide an indication if you are at risk of developing diabetes or any symptoms that may suggest a pre-diabetic condition. If you suspect you have any of the following symptoms, we recommend getting your blood glucose levels tested.
Symptoms of diabetes can include:
- Unusual thirst
- A frequent need to urinate
- Blurred vision
- Feeling tired for no apparent reason
These symptoms often develop over time, meaning people don’t always recognise them. The easiest way to test for diabetes is a random blood glucose test. This health check only takes around 1 minute. The test does not require fasting and requires only a small finger prick to draw a drop of blood.
